Expose Yourself!

I've recently discovered Empty Easel, the "online art magazine with practical advice, tips, and tutorials for creating and selling art."  Their articles are informative and easy to read.  Daily I read some of the biggies in blogging and branding, and am often left with a headache trying to figure out how to apply it to my own art marketing efforts.

I thought this link would be an interesting topic. The article is from 2009 and obviously dated material with a reference to MySpace. However, the creativity exhibited is timeless and leads me into my own social networking experiment.  Another experiment - imagine that!

Great examples of social networking success for online artists

  1. Hi Cynthia, I like the idea of your experiment! Plus, your painting is wonderful! I'm wondering, though, about Pinterest. I've been reluctant to join in because there were copyright issues at one time. It sounds like you are having a positive experience.

  3. Hi Peggy, welcome to the blog! Good question. I understand your concern about Pinterest. If I were creating high-end exhibition or gallery pieces I might be a wee bit leery of using it, however, I'm painting small pieces to sell. I see Pinterest as another exposure site, sending any traffic back to my Etsy shop. Fine Art Studio Online (FASO), and Daily Paintworks are using it to promote their artists. I feel my artwork is more in that vein...sales are the important factor.

Hi Lisa! Welcome! Hope you enjoy the blog....
